OrangeHRM releases API for Developers

Along with the upgrade of its professional HR solution, OrangeHRM released its application program interface (API) for vendors and developers.

In January, OrangeHRM released the new upgrade of its professional and enterprise HRM product. The release delivered new internal social media user capabilities along with #ProjectNova, a cutting-edge ATS that incorporates comprehensive candidate management and support throughout the recruiting cycle using the abilities of IBM’s Watson.

Taking the upgrade further, OrangeHRM released the professional and enterprise solution API to allow vendors, and developers, the opportunity to create products that easily integrate with OrangeHRM solutions.

The professional and enterprise options of OrangeHRM create a virtual, full-service HR ecosystem with a full suite of modules, just some of which include the following:

  • Centralized system administration with tools to create and extract reports, define pay grades, and indicate employment status.
  • Easily use and manage your personnel information, view employment history, or create informative reports.
  • All aspects of leave, time off, and timesheet management are available through the OrangeHRM dashboard. Request leave, grant leave requests, review and capture attendance data, increase efficiency, and reduce employee downtime with these OrangeHRM modules.
  • Recruiting, onboarding, and offboarding are important features of OrangeHRM solutions. From candidate sourcing, decision support, and interview assistance, the latest version of OrangeHRM creates a real-time environment for locating and hiring the right talent.

Four Highlights of Open Source 3.3.1

Mobile app:  Available on Android and iOS platforms, this release features the OrangeApp.  In many countries, more than half of all searches are conducted via mobile device.  The new OrangeApp lets you view and conduct important HR functions when you are away from your office.  Use the app to request leave, view timesheets, and manage personal profiles.  OrangeHRM puts the power of HR mobility at your service.

OrangeHRM’s New Free Open Source Version - Release 3.1.2

OrangeHRM Open Source Summer 2014 Release Improvements

Our most recent release of the OrangeHRM open source HRM included some client-centered and security improvements. For this release, OrangeHRM’s engineering team wanted to make sure that information data continues to meet the highest security compliance levels. One such improvement was to improve the password hash security by using bcrypt to generate the password hash. Although all versions of our open source products and add-ons have been secure, this adds another layer of security to our platform for the ongoing protection of user data.

Greater HRM Data Control and Customized Reporting

Another improvement to the OrangeHRM open source product this release was to generate the csrf token used in symfony forms at install time and save it in hs_hr_config instead of having it as a fixed value in settings.yml This enables our members to create customized forms that better match up with standard payroll software and other applications when sharing and transmitting reports. One of the initiatives of OrangeHRM has always been to maintain a product that allows HR administrators the ability to manage their data across a central human capital process. This streamlines and makes employee information management easier and customized.

2.6.4 Is Released

Version 2.6.4 was marked stable and released to the community today. The release features enhancements and usability improvements made to the Personnel Information Management module.

The following sections were addressed in this release.

  • “Work Experience”, “Education”, “Skills”, “Languages” and “License” all under one screen called “Qualifications”.
  • Photograph moved into left side of PIM screens.
  • Custom fields per each PIM screen.
  • Attachments per each PIM screen.

Upgrade instructions will be provided by the end of next week.

Another Step Towards Usability – OrangeHRM 2.6.3 Released

2011 has been a key year for OrangeHRM in terms of enhancing the system by identifying and improving the usability of the system. OrangeHRM is feature rich, robust and productive and now its being carved into that master piece we always wanted to give our users. More improvements have been made to the employee list, add employee, and photograph sections in the PIM.

The incompatibility that was identified with PHP 5.2.10 in the previous release is fixed in 2.6.3.
Upgrade instructions will be available soon for those using older versions, you can also download a fresh copy and start using OrangeHRM today.
2.6.4 will be available next month.
